V2A steel is an obsolete term variant for the austenitic stainless steels of resistance class II, in accordance with the general building authority approval of Z-30.3-6 from DIBT Berlin. The market generally understands these to be materials 1.4301, 1.4306, 1.4307, 1.4541, whereby the designation originates from old Krupp material lists, where 1.4301 was designated, for example, as V2A Supra and 1.4541 as V2A Extra.
